Our goal
Brooklyn Community ABA was founded with a simple belief: every family deserves access to high-quality ABA, regardless of income. Our goal is to provide ABA services and caregiver support through Medicaid. However, there are barriers to access to ABA through Medicaid.
What You Should Know
Over the past year, New York has cut Medicaid pay for ABA direct care services three times. The first cut, 12.5%, came in October 2025. A second 12.5% cut followed on April 1, 2026, and a third cut took effect on October 1, 2026. Today, New York pays less than any other state for ABA direct care. These cuts have pushed many ABA providers to stop taking Medicaid.
At the same time, on July 30, 2026, the state froze new ABA providers from joining Medicaid. So fewer providers are serving Medicaid families, and new ones can’t step in to fill the gap. These legislative changes have made it nearly impossible for families to access services.
